We are a Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI), owned by our members – both borrowers and investors.
We lend to businesses and social enterprises when banks are unable to! Our loans can be used for any business purpose, including asset purchase or working capital.
We lend up to £150,000, either as a single loan or as part of a ‘package’ alongside banks and other financiers. Finance packages are becoming increasingly common as the solution to a business’ financial needs. We are able to signpost you to independent Business Finance specialists for advice if required.
We take a personal approach to assessing applications and are always happy to discuss your proposal. We aim to make it easy for businesses to access the funds they need, as quickly as possible and with the minimum of fuss. Even if we can’t help we might be able to signpost you to someone that can.
Corporate and individual investments provide a base from which ART Business Loans is able to attract additional funds from a variety of public and private sector sources, including the banks.
Our investors are philanthropic companies and individuals interested primarily in a social rather than a financial.
We currently have money from the Regional Growth Fund (RGF), which is provided through our trade association – Responsible Finance (formerly known as the Community Development Finance Association or CDFA) – matched by funding from the Unity Trust and Co-Operative banks.
